Just returned from NAB in Las Vegas. I helped Polecam at their booth again and was able to speak with a lot of interested customers from all over the world. Some were in the market for a set up of their own and others just need an operator for a shoot or two.
The 3.5 day shot had plenty of surprises. I helped sell a rig to a church in Africa (pending sales details), I helped convince a long time JIB operator that THERE IS another way to do things and I met a guy who is in charge of the project I worked on the day before flying out to NAB. Crazy stuff.
Of course there was some time to walk around and explore other offerings. Several advancements have been made in the wireless video transmission systems. I saw a lot of new cameras and lenses. But honestly, I learned a lot more about the inner workings of the new polecam pan/tilt heads and am even more amazed and impressed with the product than ever before.
Only one picture for this posting. It was taken from the top of the 7th Heaven Polecam model–a good 28 feet off the deck. I have more to post but a lot of photos to sort through first. And I need to catch up on some sleep.
